NISSAN ALTIMA Hybrid Owner's Manual & Brochure PDF above the page.
The Nissan Altima was once considered the North American version of the Bluebird.
Therefore, for the time being, it is more correct to think of the Altima as a separate mid-range sedan model for North America.
In terms of the number of sales, this model still falls short of the indicators of its main competitors, which should include Toyota Camry and Honda Accord cars.
Although, on the other hand, this car was named in America as the 2002 car. At the moment, its popularity is growing rapidly, which is reflected in both production and sales.
The secret of the popularity of the model lies in the fact that for the same price as the competitors, the buyer gets a car with a more powerful engine.
But events develop further, and already in 2006, the appearance of the Altima Hybrid car is scheduled for sale, which, on the one hand, should be distinguished by low fuel consumption, and on the other, must have a sporty character, without which it is now impossible to imagine a car of the Altima series.
The hybridization method was borrowed from Toyota, but the engine will have a displacement of 2.5 liters. To assess the power of such an engine in relation to a hybrid car, it is enough to remember that the Toyota Prius model is equipped with only a 1.5-liter engine.
During the described presentation, I tested a car, a model of which is still being finalized. As a matter of fact, there is not much left: to improve soundproofing and to make speed gains more noticeable.
But work is nearing completion, and the sportiness that Nissan's hybrid car is supposed to have is already tangible.
