The English sports car manufacturer Lotus was founded in 1952 by Colin Chapman, who had previously assembled several car models in his own garage and decided to
expand his enterprise on a larger scale.
In 1986, the company was bought by General Motors, then resold to a Malaysian company, and in 2017 became part of the Chinese concern Geely Automobile.
It was the English sports car brand that helped Elon Musk and Tesla create their first electric car based on
the Lotus roadster. In part, when it comes to body design, it was Lotus that can be called the first electric car that Tesla produced.
Lotus Evija is not just a breakthrough of the company in its modern times, but an incentive and inspiration for further victories of the brand in the now electromobile history.
