Chevrolet Volt is a 5-door C-class hatchback launched in 2011 in the European, British and American markets (in Europe - Opel Ampera, in the UK - Vauxhall Ampera).

The plug-in hybrid is positioned by the manufacturer as an electric car with advanced capabilities, since the priority when driving is an electric motor powered by the internal combustion engine when there is a lack of battery power.

The electric car has standard dimensions: length - 4404 mm, wheelbase - 2685 m, width - 1798 mm, height - 1430 mm. Weight, taking into account the battery and power plant is 1715 kg.

The hatchback is quite compact inside because of the T-shaped battery located between the two rear seats. Holds only 4 people and has a small luggage compartment of 300 liters, which can be increased up to 1000 liters due to the folded rear seats.

The car's interior is standard, leather and plastic are used in the trim. The main emphasis is on the multimedia system and the navigation panel of the car.

A 7-inch color LCD monitor displays data from a speedometer, trip computer, battery level and range on all engines, as well as traffic indicators.

The front-wheel drive hatchback is driven by a sequential combination of a 86 hp 1.4-liter 4-cylinder gasoline internal combustion engine. and an electric motor rated at 150 hp (torque 370 Nm) with a 16 kWh lithium-ion battery.

A car can drive on clean electric traction up to 60 km at an average speed of up to 100 km / h, then the electric motor is fueled by a generator driven by an ICE.
